Whistleblower Reporting
If you have concerns about irregular business activities or behaviour that could put Coast Capital’s integrity or reputation at risk, you can report the matter to Coast Capital by submitting a confidential and anonymous Whistleblower Report.
What to report
Whistleblower Reporting should be used to report a variety of ethics, integrity and compliance issues, such as:
- Concerns related to accounting, internal accounting controls or auditing matters
- Any act of dishonesty, breach of laws or regulations, internal controls or policies by employees or other agents of Coast Capital
- Any other activity that may be an indication of fraud
- Unauthorized disclosure of confidential information about Coast Capital, its clients or suppliers
- Any other conduct or activity that appears suspicious or unethical
What not to report
This reporting system does not replace the other methods already in place to communicate concerns to Coast Capital. Members and others are encouraged to resolve matters relating to customer service at the branch level or with the Contact Centre where possible, and through our webpage Resolving Your Complaint. Nevertheless, if for any reason, you are not comfortable using these or the other existing reporting channels, or if you prefer to report your concern through this system, we do want to hear from you.
How to report
Whistleblower Reporting is a confidential online service operated by an independent company, outside of Coast Capital, which will alert us to your report. Reporting is completely confidential and offers the opportunity to provide vital information to our team regarding a concern.
Anonymous reporting can limit our ability to conduct an investigation if there is insufficient information provided to support taking action. Those using the new tool are encouraged to record their case number and even to consider providing contact information if possible.
Protection from retaliation
Coast Capital’s Safe Disclosure and Transparency Policy continues to protect against any form of retaliation against any individual who makes a good-faith report under the policy.
